Let us recall that several peace agreements have been signed since SunCity, even with the International Community's support, each one with the Government of DRC pledging to allow these Congolese citizens to return home, and each time and to date, the Government of DRC has failed to deliver. Many years & several broken promises (official peace accords) later, one can reasonably understand that the Congolese Tutsi Community as a whole is determined this time not to be fooled by more empty promises, but to hold their ground UNTIL the Government of DRC honors its' commitments.<br />Once the Congolese Tutsis have returned safely from exile, then one can expect those soldiers to redeploy.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1209670742820403516.post-76269260208059076272010-11-22T06:33:21.081-08:002010-11-22T06:33:21.081-08:00Recommend Daloz and Chabal 'Africa Works'F...Recommend Daloz and Chabal 'Africa Works'For a good analytical approach to these issues.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1209670742820403516.post-28459998068583542662010-11-19T17:27:36.564-08:002010-11-19T17:27:36.564-08:00God forbid that there arise a country that goes ag...God forbid that there arise a country that goes against the "the noxious stereotypes of the continent" ... because the very same NGOs wringing their hands in anxiety over these "noxious stereotypes" will do everything in their power to bring down any country that goes against said "stereotype" ... for reasons at this stage only known to them. It amazes me how quickly it becomes difficult to get a complex or multi-sided view of motivations and interests. I am trying to do this for one, just one, land conflict that has been going on here (Liberia) for about 75 years and was connected to a flare-up in inter-communal violence earlier this year. It is challenging-o, but so far really enjoyable work.Athenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09582218295107487111noreply@blogger.com
